For Lily

Somewhere near the edge of the world
In a place of effortless beauty,
In a valley of dreams and blessings,
A flower opens her petals to the morning sun.
The dewy ripeness of nature's miracle
Attracts the attention of the goddess,
Drawn to the blossom by magical color
And the lure of sweet perfume.

She strokes the tender petals
So soft! A lover in kind,
She bends to kiss the gentle bud,
No match for the soft curve of her lips.
Gateway of splendid emotion
A human flower of profound beauty
Surpassing even the flowery gem of the valley,
The picture of paradise: a woman's lips.

The Love Song You Requested

There are a million beauties in the sky
But your singular beauty speaks to me
My love
Our mother's child, the Moon
Is impressive with her many moods
Her brilliant light humbles
The mortals who worship her.
But she is accessible
She has been conquered by men
Who callously marred her eternity
With the boots of their selfish longing.

My love is alone and
Will always startle me
With an unexpected meeting.
When I look up into the night
And see you, once again,
I am silenced by your presence,
Small and quiet,
But shining brighter than any star.
Your eternal mystery gives me joy,
Hope that lights my mortal darkness.
You are different
You are my love, my ruling planet,
My Venus
